Content that ranks (E-E-A-T)

2 min read

Content is still king

You can do every technical trick perfectly, but if your content is thin or unhelpful, it will not last. Google's whole purpose is to show the most helpful answer. So the surest long-term SEO is genuinely great content.

What makes content "great" to Google?

Google describes quality with four letters: E-E-A-T.

  • Experience — does the writer have real, first-hand experience?
  • Expertise — do they actually know the subject?
  • Authoritativeness — is the site or author recognized in this field?
  • Trustworthiness — is the information accurate, honest and safe?

You build E-E-A-T by writing accurate, original content, showing who wrote it, and earning a reputation over time.

Practical rules for content that ranks

  • Answer the intent fully. If someone wants a "how to", give clear steps — better than the current top result.
  • Be original. Copied or AI-spun fluff gets ignored. Add your own examples, data, or angle.
  • Match depth to the topic. Length is not the goal — completeness is. Cover what the reader needs, with no padding.
  • Keep it fresh. Update old posts; outdated info slips down.
  • Write for humans first. Never stuff keywords. Use them naturally; Google understands meaning now, not just exact words.

The best SEO strategy is being the most helpful, trustworthy page on your topic. Master E-E-A-T and rankings follow naturally.
